Dutch courage—Alcohol improves foreign language skills October 25, 2018 at 09:26PM

I think it is all true. I become even more fluent in any language I speak after a few drinks! 🤣
via Facebook https://ift.tt/2gNMSgz A new study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, conducted by researchers from the University of Liverpool, Maastricht University and King's College London, shows that bilingual speakers' ability to speak a second language is improved after they have consumed a low dose of alcohol.

PSA: Don’t Let Your Kids Dress Up In These Costumes October 21, 2018 at 09:37PM

Wow, this is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read! The author proposes that we should only wear costume of my own race for Halloween. Based on her dumb theory, Abby should not be wearing any white princess costume because she is not white. Wow, really? Abby is mostly "color-blind" when it comes to princesses. She loves almost all of them! They are just kids. Why make it so political?

Disney princess Kristen Bell has some real concerns about ‘Snow White’ and consent October 20, 2018 at 12:20AM

Abby fell in love with all her favorite princesses without even watching the movies beforehand. She told me she just likes their fancy dresses. I love dresses too so her princess obsession never really bothers me. In fact, I often take the opportunity guiding her to learn from the good and bad of those princesses. For instance, read lots of books like Belle; love your parents like Mulan; don't fall in love at first sight like Anna; don't take any food from stranger like Snow White; don't wait for Prince Charming to come to your rescue like Aurora; and the list goes on.

A day in the life of an HSBC exec who wakes up at 5:30 a.m. to work out, always eats green, and studies at Stanford in her free time October 19, 2018 at 11:25PM

When I see the brag, I know for sure that this person doesn't have to manage a kiddo. My week-day mornings are usually spent on power struggle over clothes with my daughter; after work evenings are dedicated to another set of power struggles over bath time and bed time. Seriously, does any lady I know in the SF Bay Area live such an "easy" life like this? 🤔

Perspective | My wife and I swapped traditional parenting roles. It’s been harder than we expected. October 04, 2018 at 10:15PM

You can't expect a child to prefer you (even as her biological mother) if you haven't invested the time and effort to care for her. Period. This funny stay-at-home dad has a tough job.

Early Academic Training Produces Long-Term Harm October 03, 2018 at 11:17PM

Just play, Abigail. Play to your heart's content! She comes home with boo-boos and dirt everyday but she is a happy preschooler again. Thanks to these researches that confirm my belief in play-based education.

Toddlers Want to Help and We Should Let Them October 02, 2018 at 10:42PM

Always proud of my little helper. At 3, she is capable of sweeping, wiping, cleaning up, folding undies, breaking eggs, mixing and kneading cookie dough, and sometimes, grooming her mom. 😍
